The Climate Action Group is a dedicated working group within the Watchet Conservation Society, focused on addressing the climate and ecological emergency at a local level.
We believe that meaningful climate action starts in our own community. Through education, practical projects, and advocacy, we're working to reduce carbon emissions, increase resilience to climate change, and protect our local environment for future generations.
Our work is guided by the latest climate science and best practice in community-led environmental action.
Supporting Watchet residents and businesses to reduce their carbon footprint through energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable transport.
Implementing tree planting, habitat restoration, and green infrastructure projects that sequester carbon while enhancing biodiversity.
Building Watchet's resilience to climate impacts including flooding, heatwaves, and extreme weather events.
